If you want to get more traffic to your blog, read on. Here’s the top 10 ways to drive traffic to your blog:

  1. Write great content. If your content is good, people will visit your blog. Before you write a blog post, always think of what is in it for your readers. If you can provide value to your readers with your blog posts, people will share the link of your blog with others and get you more traffic.
  2. Participate in forums. Contribute to the forum and help fellow forum members to increase your reputation. When people trust you, they will visit your blog and become your loyal follower.
  3. Article marketing. Write articles and submit them to popular article directories like EzineArticles. If your articles are good, other webmasters will publish your articles on their sites, giving you more traffic.
  4. Do a proper keyword research. Use google keyword tool to find terms that are related to your niche. Then write your blog post about these keyword terms.
  5. Social media marketing. Connent with people on Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Digg and Reddit and post your blog. This will help improve your search engine rankings too.
  6. Comments. Post comments on other people blog and they will most likely look at yours.
  7. Social bookmarking. Book mark your blog on social bookmarking sites like Digg, StumbleUpon and Reddit to get more traffic.
  8. Pay per click advertising. Advertise your blog on search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing to get more traffic.
  9. Facebook advertising. Advertise your blog using Facebook advertisment to get more traffic. You can also create a fan page for your blog and attract followers.
  10. Submit your blog to blog engines. Ping every blog post and make sure that every blog engine receives your blog post.

How to Promote an Affiliate Product Without Using PPC?

PPC is the most common way that many affiliate marketers use to promote affiliate products. Some affiliates even use direct affiliate links as their destination URLs in their ppc ads. Therefore, this makes more affiliates use PPC and make the market very competitive.

Although Yahoo Cash 4 Idiots states that Yahoo is an untapped goldmine, I think that competition in Yahoo is getting fiercer every day too.

So if you are looking for ways to promote affiliate products without using PPC, read on…

One of the best ways to promote affiliate products is to write review about them. You can write the review on your own website, or on other platforms such as Squidoo, articles, wordpress, etc. Before you write the review, conduct a research and gather information.

You can either get a copy of the product yourself, or send an email to the merchant and tell him or her that you wish to promote the product and ask for a review copy. If not, you can always go to forums and websites to see what other people are talking about the product. Gather the points and publish them in your own words on your website.

When you are reviewing a product, make sure that you stay neutral about it. Point out both the good and bad points. The best way is to turn yourself into a news reporter by stating the facts and information about the product. This technique is know as the Conduit Method.

Another way to promote affiliate product is to use article marketing and drive traffic to your squeeze page. I have been using this method for quite some time now and I must say that this is my favourite way to promote affiliate products. At the same time, you are also building your list which is important if you want to be a successful affiliate.

You should submit your articles to EzineArticles.com, GoArticles.com and Buzzle.com. To determine the exposure you will get from each of the directory, go and look at their live articles.

Let’s take EzineArticles.com for example. Go to EzineArticles and select a category that you wish to submit your articles. Then choose one of the live article in the category and click on it. Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the article until you see the “Most Viewed EzineArticles in the XXXX Category (90 Days)”. Open the first and last article. Then scroll all the way to the bottom until you see “This article has been viewed XXXX time(s).” This will give you a rough idea on the maximum and minimum exposure you will get in a category.

Some categories have a lot of traffic just from the directory itself (excluding all the long tail search engine traffic to your articles). So if the affiliate product is in a hot category, article marketing is a MUST-USE method to promote it.

What is the Best Way to Get Traffic to Your Website?

All right… I know you may be thinking about other ways other than using a list, here are some examples:

There is no best way to drive traffic to a website. It all depends on what you are good at. To me, nothing beats having thousands of readers in my list that are ready to read my mails and click on the URL to my website or any other site that I promote.

But to you, maybe you are good at article marketing - and this may be the best way for you to drive traffic to your website.

My suggestion to you is - if you are new to internet marketing, you should concentrate on one method first and be good at it. It is very easy for beginners to feel information-overload and want to try out the various marketing channels. Therefore, it will be good for you to stay focus on one method and master it first, before moving on to try out another method.

Last but not least, don’t forget to build your list. To me, having a ready readership in your list is definitely my best way to drive traffic to a website.
