I feel that HAHD challenge is a very good way to help newbies in article marketing to write consistently. If you break it down, it is only 1 article per day for 100 days. You can definitely do it. The free gifts are nice but the most valuable part of all is the amount of traffic, opt-ins and sales you will get to your website or blog.

So if you are into article marketing and needs some challenge, go for HAHD. Nothing is impossible.

Article marketing is one of the most effective ways to drive traffic. Especially when you submit your articles to popular article directories like EzineArticles.com, you’re going to get a huge amount of traffic directly from the site itself. But you can get more out from your articles. The key is to optimize your articles and make them achieve high organic rankings on search engines for important keywords.

Now, let me share with you a few tips to optimize your articles:

1. Place the most important keyword in the Title of your articles. The keyword should appear right at the beginning of the title. You should try mention the keyword at least twice in the title of your article. To avoid spam, you can use different variations of the keyword in your title. If the keyword you want to optimize is search engine optimization, an example will be something like this: “Search Engine Optimization - 8 Search Marketing Tips to Make Your Site Sky-Rocket to the Top”.
2. Mention the keywords in the first and last paragraph of your article. Don’t forget about this.
3. Submit your articles to social bookmarking sites. Sites like Digg, StumbleUpon and Reddit are very popular social bookmarking sites with high traffic. Once your articles are live, you should bookmark them. Also, remember to send post them on Twitter too.
4. Identify the most popular article and create even more back links to it. After a week, you should be able to see which article performed the best. The next thing you should do is to write even more articles and in the author resource boxes, place a link back to the most popular article.
5. Use other effective methods to create more back links to your articles. Other effective methods to create back links are blog commenting, forum marketing and creating Squidoo lens.

Remember, you should always create back links for the best articles. When you write a lot of articles, there will be hits and misses. Don’t spend time dwelling on the misses. Concentrate your energy and effort on the hits.

Article marketing is one of the best methods to drive traffic and promote affiliate products. I have relied heavily on articles to drive traffic to my websites for the past 2 years and I must say it has been working very well for me.

Till now, I have 1002 articles live on Ezinearticles.com, under a few different pen names. Those 1002 articles generated a total of 1,494,393 page views with 229,469 URL clicks.

If you are into affiliate marketing but have not been using articles to drive traffic, I strongly urged you to start doing so.

Writing and submitting articles to article directories is a great way to market affiliate products. But do you know how to monetize your articles?

First of all, you need to make sure that you are writing and submitting enough articles every week. Give yourself a target to hit. If you are new to article marketing, 1 article a day is a very realistic target and is not hard to achieve at all. After you set your targets, write it down on a piece of paper and paste it somewhere that you will see it every day.

The best way to monetize your articles (other than building Google Adsense sites) is to set up a squeeze page and build a list.

Next, find a related affiliate product and offer to the people that join your list. You need to have a professional auto-respondent system (such as Aweber) to manage your list. Set up a sequence of follow-up messages to promote the first affiliate product to your list. Subsequently, queue more follow-up messages to cross sell other relevant products that your list subscribers might be interested.

It is important that you choose the right products to promote to your list subscribers. Go to the various affiliate product network such as Clickbank, Commission Junction and PayDotCom to look for relevant products to promote.

To choose the right product to promote, put yourself in the shoes of your visitors. What is the problem that they are facing? What kind of solution can solve their current problems? Answering these questions will help your product selection process.

And also, if you have already written a few articles, compile them into an e-book or a short report. The report should be around 10 - 15 pages and remember to place relevant offers inside it. Then, offer this report as a free gift to your list subscribers. Allow them to distribute the report for you as long as they keep the content intact.

Although I make it sounds very simple, the process is in fact this simple.

Drive traffic using articles –> to Squeeze Page –> Entice Opt-Ins –> Queue Up Follow-up Messages –> Strong Call to Action Statements to entice them to click on your affiliate links.
