Are you using email to promote affiliate products? If you are not doing right now… you are missing out on something which is really useful.

Email marketing has been around for ages but it remains to be one of the most valuable tools to market products. By building list of loyal subscribers and market products to them, you can be sure you are building assets for your early retirement.

When it comes to affiliate marketing, email is something which you definitely need to make use of. Before you can start using email to promote affiliate products, you need to build your own list for a particular niche that you are promoting. To build a list, you need to create squeeze page to capture your visitors’ names and email addresses.

Capturing your visitors’ email addresses is extremely important in affiliate marketing. If you are just driving directly to the publisher’s sales page without capturing your visitors’ information, you may lose your visitors forever. They will in turn join the list of your affiliate product publisher and you can’t sell anymore things to them in the future.

Therefore, it is always wise for you to create a squeeze page to capture your visitors’ information once you see that the particular affiliate product that you are promoting can sell. You need to capture at least your visitors’ names and emails so that you can do follow-ups with them.

In order to capture their information, you will need to have an auto-respondent to store your database. For me, I am using Aweber, which is an excellent auto-respondent for internet marketing. Once you get your auto-respondent set up, you can insert the code that they provide for you on your squeeze page and your system is ready to capture information.

Once you have your squeeze page ready, the next step is to drive tons of targeted traffic to your squeeze page. Offer something in return for them opting in to your list. You can either give them a free email course, free ebook or report, coupons, etc.

As your list starts to build, you can now create messages in your auto-respondent to broadcast emails to your subscribers. One good thing about professional auto-respondent like Aweber is that it allows you to queue your email messages. This means that you can spend 1 day and draft out all the email messages that you intend to send in the next 6 months… and queue them out for sending. This will help you save a lot of time and effort and facilitate your marketing planning.

When promoting affiliate products to your subscribers, make sure that you only promote something which is related to their interests. If you list is about how to play golf better, do not send them emails to promote a book on playing football better. Stay within your niche and be targeted. Nothing irritates more when your subscribers receive something that are not of their interests.

You should also take note of the frequency of email sending.  S0metimes, depending on the nature of your list, the subscribers will be less-tolerant with daily email sending. Therefore, it is always good to tell your subscribers at the beginning of the frequency that you will be sending them emails. This will help decrease the unsubscribe rate.

Using email to promote affiliate products is definitely a great way to increase your online income bottom line. However, do bear in mind not to promote crappy products. They are your loyal subscribers and you need to send them good stuffs to keep them in your list… forever.
