Do you write articles and a fan of EzineArticles.com? If you are you should check out the latest change of rules on EzineArticles.com. They are changing the number of self-serving link in the their box from 3 links to 2 links, from June 1st 2008 onwards…
Existing articles or articles submitted before 1st June 2008 will not be asked to stick with the new rule. That means you’ll be able to submit articles with up to (3) self-serving links for the rest of May 2008.
Is this rule affecting you as a bum marketer (article marketer)?
For me, it is completely fine as I usually used 2 self-serving links in my author resource box anyway. I believe the key is in the content of your article. If your articles provide solid information, even if you have a single link in your resource box, your readers will gladly click on the link and visit your website.
But for those authors who submit thin content to EzineArticles.com and still ask for 3 self-serving links, then they will be greatly affected by this change of rule.
Personally, I used EzineArticles.com a lot as I write articles almost every week either for my affiliate marketing business or for my SEO clients. EzineArticles.com has always been the second highest traffic source behind search engines for most of my websites. Therefore, I think this is a great move by Christopher Knight (owner of EzineArticles.com) because this will uphold the credibility and quality of every article submitted to them.
The key to article marketing is not about the number of links placed within your author’s resource box - It is always about good quality content. Articles with 3 self-serving links look spammy anyway, so let’s scrap this old rule and embrace the new rule now.
So for those who are still using 3 self-serving links for your articles, you have 3 more days to do so. =)
