To make money with affiliate marketing, the product that you choose to promote is crucial - you got to make sure that the product can sell. So in this blog post, let me share with you some tips on choosing the right affiliate product from Clickbank Marketplace.

1. Decide your target market. By determining your target market first, it will make it easier to identify a winner. When choosing a market to enter,  I will strongly advise you to choose a hungry market - which means a market that consists of desperate buyers. Unless you are an experienced niche finder, you should always go into these hungry markets as they are big enough for you to make affiliate sales. Examples of hungry market are like Registry Cleaning and Xbox Repair. People who are having registry or Xbox problems will be desperate to find solutions to fix their situations, which presents an opportunity for affiliates to recommend solutions to ease their frustrations and pain.
2. Visit Clickbank Marketplace. In the Clickbank marketplace, there are all kinds of digital products for you to promote. The first thing that you should do is to select a Category. Then choose a Sub Category and types in the keywords that are related to the industry that you intend to enter. For example, if you like to go into the weight loss industry, you can select Health & Fitness (Main Category) –> Diet (Sub Category) –> and enter Weight Loss as the keywords. I will usually sort the results either by Popularity or Gravity.  Note: Gravity is the number of distinct affiliates who earned a commission by referring a paying customer to the publisher’s products. This is a weighted sum and not an actual total. For each affiliate paid in the last 8 weeks we add an amount between 0.1 and 1.0 to the total. The more recent the last referral, the higher the value added.
3. Choosing affiliate products. Now, you will be able to see a list of affiliate products available for you to choose from. If you sort the result by Gravity, the top 10 products are usually the most popular products in the market and many affiliates are making money by promoting them. These products are potential choices for you to promote. The first thing that I will do is to visit the sales pages for each of the top 10 products. You can visit the sale page by clicking on the “View Pitch Page” link. At the sales page, you got to make sure that it is enticing enough for people to buy the product. Usually, the headline plays a very important role here. If the headline on the sales page is not attractive enough, most of the visitors will leave the page immediately. What you can do is to imagine yourself as an visitor who is in need of the product. Will you read on? After reading the entire sales copy, are you impressed with what you see and the benefits that you will be getting? Will you be interested to buy? 4. Check the payment modes. If you find the sales copy is convincing enough, the next thing that you should check is the payment modes that the merchant is offering. If the customers pay through offline means, you will not get their well-deserved commissions. 5. Create hoplinks. Clickbank uses hoplinks to track the effort of affiliates. In order to get credit for any sale, you need to use a unique hoplink to promote a product. Before you can create a hoplink, you need to open up a Clickbank account. For affiliates, opening a Clickbank account is free of charge. Once you have a Clickbank account, you will receive an unique nickname that you will use frequently to create hoplinks. So the next step is to go back to the Marketplace. Once you have a product you want to promote, click “create hoplink” under the product and begin referring sales today. Enter your Clickbank nickname and click on the Create button. It will automatically generate the hoplink for you and you can use it immediately to promote the product.
